Stage 1: Start-up

This stage is where we are laying the ground for the business, experimenting with ideas, and etching out future plans.

Stage 2: In Operation

Stage 3: Established

Stage 4: Maturity

Stage 1: Start-Up

The business has not begun to up a customer base or currently selling produce.

Food is being grown in enough quantity to sell. However, the business is not meeting it's social, environmental, or economical goals.

Food is being sold in markets that meet some of it's social goals, economical sustainability has been achieved, and some environmental goals are being met as well.

All social, environmental, and economic goals are being met. The business is fully functional and requires small inputs to maintain itself.

Stage 2: In Operation

Stage 3: Established

Stage 4: Maturity

Stage 1: Start-Up

Produce is being grown in such small quantities there is not enough to reliably sell.

As plans mature, some produce is able to be sold which will mainly be sold at farmers markets, to friends, and to family.

Plants are at maturity and are reliably producing. An anchor institution such as a local hospital or community-based business is set up as a client that buys our produce. This business or institution must help us achieve our social goals of help alleviating food insecurity.

The business is making money by selling to places that help us achieve our social mission. We are also doing so in a manner that regenerates the environment.

Stage 1: No Market

We anticipate to be selling produce at farmers market in 2022.
